Rudiger apologises to French defender after causing horrific injury

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has issued an apology to France full-back Benjamin Pavard after inflicting a horrific neck injury on him during their UEFA Nations League encounter.

As reported on Talksport, Pavard was left with multiple wounds on the side of his neck after Rudiger accidentally stood on him. Pictures posted by Optus Sport show just how bad the outcome was for Pavard.

The German centre-back’s studs grazed on Pavard’s leaving him in excruciating pain.

Rudiger is adamant that the clash was purely accidental and has wished Pavard a speedy recovery.

Rudiger has been impressive for Chelsea so far this season and has started in all of the Blues’ Premier League matches.

There have been some questions asked about Chelsea’s defence by fans and pundits so far this term but with the help of Rudiger, they have kept two clean sheets out of four matches.
