Nigeria rise on latest FIFA ranking

Nigeria’s position has refused to go the direction of the Naira just yet as the country moved up a place in the first ranking of the year. Though Nigeria’s non-participation at the 2017 AFCON may mean the recent rise is just a temporary one.
The Super Eagles climbed up to seventh in Africa behind Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Congo DR.
The top 34 positions remain as they were with Argentina, Brazil and Germany still in first, second and third respectively.
Swaziland has reached its best ever position in the Fifa/Coca-Cola World Ranking moving up a place to 99. The next ranking will be published on 9 February 2017.
