Neville reveals situation surrounding future of Man Utd boss Mourinho

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has claimed that Jose Mourinho has no reason to fear for his job just yet.

There have been rumours that Mourinho has lost the United dressing room following their shock 3-2 defeat at Brighton on Sunday.

Speculation has also persisted that he has a rift with star midfielder Paul Pogba, however Neville has moved to quash rumours of disharmony in the dressing room.

“I speak to people at the club and I think that there is a good spirit in the dressing room. Today [Sunday] is a poor performance,” he told his podcast.

“This idea – he’s not lost the players. I don’t think for one minute he’s lost the players so I think it would be wrong to suggest that about this game.

“That will be the wedge that will be tried to be driven and I have felt it being forced a little bit with the Pogba issue this week. They’re trying to force this issue.

“I think he will leave the players because what he needs now is get them right for a week on Monday, a big game against Tottenham, and it is only the second game of the season.

“It’s a worry but it’s only the second game of the season so it’s not terminal.”
